5th Annual
General Meeting of LOAM |

The 5th Annual General Meeting of
the Lanka Organic agriculture Movement was
held on 10th December 2007 at the
Auditorium of the Post Graduate Institute of
Agriculture (PGIA), Peradeniya. |

|
| |
The meeting began with the lighting of the
traditional oil lamp followed by the welcome
address of the chairman of the LOAM.
Thereafter, the chief guest, Dr. A.S.
Jayakody who represented Prof. Gunasena
Herath) made a presentation on “Scientific
needs for Organic Agriculture”. |

This was followed by five presentations on
organic agriculture that were made by: |

The Annual General Meeting |
| |
|
| |
The Annual General Meeting was held in the
afternoon session. During the AGM, a new
executive committee was elected for the year
2008. Mr. Ranjith de Silva was elected as
the President, Ms. Kamal Melvani as the
Secretary and Mr. Mohan Samarakoon as the
Treasurer. Mr. Tilak Kariyawasam was elected
as the Vice President. Fourteen (14) other
members were elected for the executive board

individuals participated in this meeting. |
